Scott and Israel Swanson are the Lead Pastors at The Heart Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Early in 2023, after serving in various roles in ministry, God began stirring their hearts with a desire to lead a church that would provide a place of real connection to the presence, power, and purpose of Jesus. A vision began to take shape for a new church that would serve as a place where the lost, hurting, and the spiritually hungry in our community could not only find a family but also find a home. Colorado Springs has a population of nearly 500,000 people. Despite being known for its significant faith community, nearly 70% of its people remain unchurched. We believe the Springs is ripe for harvest, and we're excited to bring a life-giving church that loves Jesus to the individuals and families of our city.

At The Heart Church, we believe everyone has a next step to take! Whether you are a new follower of Jesus or you have been walking with the Lord for many years, it's God's desire that you live out your faith in tangible ways on your journey of discipleship. While everyone's next step is different, these are the steps we believe every Christ-follower must take on the road to maturity.

2023
Early in 2023, God began stirring the hearts of Scott and Israel Swanson with a desire to lead a church in Colorado Springs that would provide a place of real connection to the presence, power, and purpose of Jesus. A vision began to take shape for a new church that would serve as a place where the lost, hurting, and those hungry for God in our community could not only find a family but also find a home.
As this desire began to grow, it led to a time of prayer and fasting during which God confirmed to the couple that they would, in fact, plant The Heart Church, with its first service on March 24th, 2024 - Palm Sunday.
Immediately, they began sharing this vision with other pastors and ministry leaders in Colorado Springs and seeking counsel on their next steps. In the fall, they began meeting with small groups of families and individuals, casting vision, and inviting those in attendance to help plant this new church with the goal of building a team of 120 people before launch. To date, 65 people have committed to helping bring the dream of The Heart Church to reality.
January 2024
The Heart Church’s first start-up party took place January 27th, 2024. The goal of this event was to share the love of Jesus with our community and to share with those who attend the vision God has given Pastors Scott and Israel for this new church. It was a fantastic time of fun for families with activities for kids, an indoor bounce house, delicious food, entertaining games, giveaways, and prizes for both adults and kids. A second start-up party took place on March 2nd, 2024.
Grand Opening - Palm Sunday, 2024
On Palm Sunday 2024, The Heart Church hosted its grand opening service at Sand Creek High School, located near the intersection of Powers and N. Carefree in Colorado Springs. With nearly 100 people in attendance, it was an amazing time of worshiping God within this new community.
